Like any diehard gamer, I got shelves of action figures, toys, and collectibles. I go through periods in life where I flaunt my goodies as much as I can. I'll clutter my desk with toys, and showcase them in display cases around my house, as if they were rare pieces of museum art. And then sometimes, I'd look at myself and wonder if a grown man should still be hanging up posters of sexy video game characters he swiped from a magazine at the newstand.[nextpage]
Granted, I got a pretty good excuse for what I display. It tends to be games I worked on over the years. But now that I worked hundreds of games from doing some design work, to marketing and publishing them, the collection doesn't look so impressive anymore. By now many of you know I am a huge Star Wars fan. In fact, I don't even think the term fan applies to me. They probably are going to have to invent some sort of new phrase to fully encompass my obsession - I mean passion. That being said I'm always impressed by the ingenuity of some fans to adapt it to everyday items in their life. [nextpage] Since moving, my wife has let me take over the entirety of one room in order to display part of mycollection (all of it would require the entire house...I am not joking). Developer: The Creative Assembly Australia. I got to say, this is possibly one of the hardest titles I have ever had to review. Not for any personal or political (can games be political?) reason, but rather because I have to ask myself the question; “How can you review a selection of games that have been reviewed about 100 times before?” Sonic Classic Collection features the four (well technically three*) original Sonic the Hedgehog games that appeared on SEGA’s 16-bit Mega Drive/ Genesis console; Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles. [*Sonic 3 and S&K were originally planned to be part of the same game]. But also ...

If you thought your Golden, NES Legend Of Zelda cartridge marks you as a true fan, you clearly haven't seen the Video Game Memorabilia Museum, or VGMM. Having our fanboy and fangirl egos shattered, we humbly decided to get in contact with the VGMM and schedule an interview regarding the jaw dropping collection. [nextpage] Started back in 2005, creator, collector, and gamer Brett Martin started the VGMM to showcase his personal collection of video game merchandise and to pay respect to a once niche hobby that has changed the lives of many. Currently, Brett holds the Guinness world record for the largest collection of video game merchandise. Featured in numerous gaming publications such as including Kotaku, Game Culture, Go Nintendo, among others, I had the privilege of ...

As is the case at the end of every year, numerous gaming websites have given their awards for the Best Games of 2009.
