Sandbox games like Grand Theft Auto or Fallout have been with the gaming market for years now. It can be noted how highly successful they are in their own unique form. Without the limitation of linearity, the choice of doing what you want and when you want, gives the utmost privilege in a game. Although Grand Theft Auto and Fallout are completely different titles with contrasting goals, it’s clear to point out that gamers love their freedom. Yakuza 3 debuts in the States just weeks away and it’s come a long, arduous way to be acknowledged as a very anticipated game for this year. Japan was graced with the PlayStation 3 exclusive for an entire year and it showed its dominance, beating out blockbuster Resident Evil 5 in sales. The intrigue of Yakuza comes from an intricately ...

Ok so you might have played the Aliens vs. Predator multiplayer demo and either thought; "Damn this is badass!" or "WTF is this?" Well AvP may have the same priniples as any other multiplayer title: kill or be killed, but it has a more subtle style of gameplay that players will need to adopt if they want to be top in the intergalactic-race war. Rather than going all Quake or Unreal - running around using as much ammo as possible on your enemies until everything stops moving - you are going to need to learn how to use close combat techniques. AvP might not give you a true Jackie Chan fist-fight experience, but the melee combat is a tad more advanced than most FPS titles out there. Especially with the Alien (who doesn't have any proper long range attacks) you will need to understand ...

By now, the Heavy Rain Demo has been released to the public, one way or another. Although it hasn’t been officially released, one can get it by playing through the online mystery game “Four Days” that has been running for the past couple weeks. Once completing that, Quantic Dream and their viral marketing affiliates are proud to present you with a code for your very own demo. Heavy Rain explores of life filled with choices. With those choices, come obvious consequences. Ever since the arrival of the Heavy Rain tech demo years ago, Sony expressed how this game ideally demonstrates the best graphics that you can only get on their system. The Heavy Rain demo’s quality doesn’t disappoint, creating an even stronger anticipation until the game release on February ...

Oh yeah! SEGA has now released a playable demo of Sonic & SEGA All-Stars racing on Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo allows you to play as Sonic or Banjo (oh you love him really) and on one of tracks, "Lost Palace". Weirdly though on the SOE Blog they say that you play across "a selection of tracks" - but it looks like you can only play on one - though that's not a weird thing for a demo. But that doesn't stop it from being a really fun demo; I've already played through it about five times and that's only the single player, I'm still yet to tackle the multiplayer option. The only downfall is that the demo is a pretty weighty 1.03GB download. Not the biggest ever, but it'll take a little longer to arrive on your hard drive and if you are impatient, like me, then it's ...

~In case you haven't seen it; the new Marines trailer~ In case you haven't checked, the Aliens vs. Predator multiplayer demo should now be available from a download service of your choice; XBL, PSN and Steam. The demo was (supposedly) released last Friday 5th Feb, but I didn't see it appear on my XBL service until last night, maybe I'm living in a black hole or something. The demo allows you to play with some friends and/or play a quick match against some randoms online. There is only one level to play, "The Refinery," but you can play as all three species; Alien, Marine or Predator. Anyway, it seems that PC and PS3 users of the demo over the weekend were plagued with some issues, which Rebellion has now apologised for; while the Xbox 360 version was unaffected. ...

Available for download on the PlayStation Network just a few hours ago (and Dec. 24 for Xbox 360 owners), the demo for Visceral Games' Dante's Inferno should be relatively familiar to fans of God of War. While the two are totally different in hero and plot, both games are dramatically executed with action-packed brilliance, totally immersing players in each of their respective worlds. The question on top of everyone's mind is: How does this game stack up against God of War 3? Based on the demo, the simple answer is: Sometimes, I thought I actually was playing a God of War game. [nextpage] Electronic Arts' upcoming project centers around Dante, a veteran of the Crusades who discovers his beloved Beatrice killed and her soul taken prisoner by demon lord Lucifer. The demo loosely refers ...

The demo for Platinum Games' sexy action title, Bayonetta, has now arrived on Xbox Live and Playstation Network in both the US and Europe. The demo is going to set you back about 768MB of hard disk space (at least for the Xbox 360 version - not sure about PS3), so anyone with a small hard drive might want to think about freeing up some space, so they can kick some angel ass... or just to check out Bayonetta's... Bayonetta is out now in Japan, but due for release in the US come January 5th and Europe January 8th 2010, for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. [Source: SEGA PR] ... |
